This program is designed to increase the quality of life and broaden the horizons of "mature" citizens of rural Kansas. Our educational offerings ("to go") range from Tai Chi to Internet Training (free computer included), taught once a week in 8-week, in-home sessions.

Additionally, volunteers provide a range of services; helping with tasks on our client’s 'to do list'  These task lists are generally compiled over a month and then a volunteer visits regularly once or twice a month to complete the client’s ‘honey-do’ list.

We also provide services to the frail and to some folks in larger towns. Winter Center is currently seeking additional volunteers to supplement this program and expand its “reach”. Contact us for more information, to volunteer or to become a client. (785) 845 8877

We also host computer classes at local libraries and churches...

 Grandpartners

In the last few years, we have found that more and more grandparents are becoming the primary providers for their grandchildren.  Parenting (the second time around) is often rewarding, sometimes trying and never inexpensive…especially on a fixed income.

Through our ‘Grand Partners’ program, participants who are 55 years or older and who  find that they are the principle caretaker of a grandchild, can receive support, assistance and   a variety of services.  This also ensures that youngsters are connected with the community.  After all…it truly takes a village to raise a child.
