The Winter Center is pleased to offer a Financial Training program that combines classroom, community, computer and research based activities. The programs include pre and post testing, participant-facilitation and practical (real world) applications in the following areas:
- Money Management – setting long and short term financial goals
- Overall Financial Planning – controlling your financial success
- Income – where will it come from? (job vs career)
- Banking – checking, savings/IDAs, loans and debit cards
- Budgeting – dividing up the income and conquering expenses
- Snares of Unwary Consumers –cell phones, magazine & health club subscriptions, book & CD 'clubs', etc.
- Investing – stocks, bonds and other investments
- Credit Cards and Pay-Day Borrowing - decision and consequences
- Taxation – deductions, withholding and refunds
- Planning for your children's future
- The "Big Stuff" – cars, houses and higher education
- Scam Awareness – get rich quick schemes through the mail, email, on the phone and at the door
- Entrepreneurship –training and planning for your very own business.
