The YouthWorks program in Kansas City is sponsored by Weed and Seed #117.  The program is tailored to youth 10-13 years of age.  This age range has been shown to have the highest risk factors for youth in Weed and Seed Zone #117 .  The program provides weekly evening events for youth to gain leadership skills and actively engage in the betterment of their community.  The program is based at Gateway Plaza Townhomes in Kansas City Ks.  The following charts provide a summary of the activities and events for the last quarter of 2007.

In 2008, the program continues to move forward with its goals.  Youth have elected their Youth Council, have started a community food pantry, are creating a mural, compiling a history of their neighborhood by interviewing seniors, and are learning to cook-a full meal will be served to at Parent's Night in March 2008.
